This intensive 24-week Pearson Test Preparation course is specifically designed for individuals aiming to achieve high scores on the Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic. The course provides a structured and comprehensive approach to mastering the skills required for success in all four test components: speaking, writing, reading, and listening. Through targeted practice, strategic test-taking techniques, and personalized feedback, students will build confidence and competence to excel in the exam and achieve their desired scores.
The course focuses on enhancing students' proficiency in English language skills critical for the PTE Academic exam. Key components include advanced grammar and vocabulary building, pronunciation practice, and strategies for tackling various question types across all test sections. Students will engage in practice tests, mock exams, and interactive exercises designed to simulate real test conditions. In addition, the course provides specialized workshops to address individual weaknesses, boost time management skills, and develop effective problem-solving strategies tailored to the Pearson Test format.
At the end of the course, students should be able to hold and understand simple conversations, write basic texts and reading them. This knowledge will facilitate the learning process for those who want to continue with the EAP, taking international English exams or display skills to access higher education
Students will receive essential information and advice on the exam and what each individual part of the exam involves and the best way to approach each task.
PTE Academic Reading: Reading skills are developed using identified strategies with a focus on summarising written text, re-ordering paragraphs, filling in the blanks and improving general reading skills. Students also focus on identifying their own strengths and weaknesses and practicing effective reading skills in order to be prepared for the PTE.
PTE Academic Writing: Writing skills are developed using identified strategies with a focus on answering multiple choice questions, writing essays and improving general writing skills. Students also focus on identifying their own strengths and weaknesses and practice effective writing skills in order to be prepared for the PTE.
PTE Academic Listening: Listening skills are developed using identified strategies with a focus on summarising spoken text, choosing single or multiple choice answers, filling in the blanks, highlighting the correct summary, selecting missing words, highlighting missing works, writing from dictation and improving general listening skills. Students also focus on identifying their own strengths and weaknesses and practice effective listening skills in order to be prepared for the PTE.
PTE Academic Speaking: Speaking skills are developed using identified strategies with a focus on reading aloud, repeating sentences, describing images, retelling lectures, answering short questions and improving general speaking skills. Students also focus on identifying their own strengths and weaknesses and practice effective speaking skills in order to be prepared for the PTE.
Prior to enrolment, students may wish to evidence of prior English knowledge and skills by taking up an assessment to determine which level is the most appropriate for the student. This approach will also allow the staff to identify any special needs. Direct entry to the Pearson Test of English (PTE) Examination Preparation course is possible with a proof of having IELTS level 4.5 or equivalent.
The Pearson Test of English Examination Preparation Course (“PTE Preparation Course”) total duration is of 12 weeks (including 2 break). There will be additional period of break during the Christmas / New Years closure.

Learners entering this course should possess an English proficiency level equivalent to a B1 or B2 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), or an IELTS band score of 5.0 or Intermediate. Participants should have a basic understanding of the English language and be able to communicate in familiar contexts with moderate fluency.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be equipped with the skills and strategies needed to achieve a PTE Academic score ranging from 65 to 85, which aligns with the C1 to C2 level on the CEFR. Graduates will be capable of understanding complex English language constructs, articulating thoughts clearly, and employing effective test-taking strategies to meet their academic or professional goals.
